Salary Cap
The Salary Cap in FFD will always mirror the current salary cap in the NBA.
For 2019-2020 season, the Salary Cap will be $109,140,000
Teams will be allowed to exceed cap for the following exceptions.
Cap Exceptions
1. Rookie Exception - Teams can sign their own drafted rookies even if it takes them over the cap. They still have to stay within the roster requirements.
2. Min Player Cap Exception/10 Day Contracts - Teams can offer 1 min salary contract even if they are over the cap. They still have to stay within the roster requirements.
3. Disabled Player Exception - If a player is said to miss a significant part of the season due to injury, a team can sign a replacement player for up to half the disabled players salary that year. Teams are allowed to exceed their cap for these signings.
Exceptions will reset every year.
The salary cap resets every season, so it is not possible to trade cap for future seasons. Whenever cap is involved in a trade, that amount is reflected in the current season's cap only.
If a team with insufficient cap receives any cap penalty that they cannot afford, the penalty will roll over to the following year accompanied by a 5M fine.

- Every team must be under the cap by the start of the season unless using a player exception. Once a roster is identified as being over the cap and invalid, the franchise owner will be contacted and given 48 hours to adjust their roster according.
- Teams must be within the cap regulations for following seasons as well. (Team/Player options do not count against future cap until the options are accepted)
- Failure to correct their rosters after the 48 grace period will result in the team owner forfeiting all fantasy points scored for the team going forward after the grace period. Once the team is updated and the issue resolved, the team will then be allowed to compete again going from that date. All points forfeited, after the grace period, during the rosters time of ineligibility will be considered lost, and will not be rewarded back to the franchise.
